Title: Mortgage Loan Originator
Location: Richmond, VA
Onsite/Remote – Onsite
Shift - Monday - Friday - 10:00 am to 7:00 PM EST
Duration: 12 Months – (Contract To Hire)
Description:
Department Overview:
• OSS (Origination and Servicing Support) – focused primarily on mortgage origination, not IT desktop support.
Bachelor Degree:
• Not required.
Role Responsibilities: (what they will be doing)
• Answer inbound calls from internal mortgage teammates (not external clients).
• Provide Tier 1 support by resolving mortgage-related issues such as:
o Reviewing and interpreting Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac findings.
o Assisting with DTI (Debt-to-Income) calculations.
o Identifying and resolving credit report errors or reissuance needs.
o Explaining fail validations.
o Helping compare discrepancies between automated findings and internal origination systems.
• Handle basic account issues like password resets or unlocking accounts.
• Log interactions in Salesforce, and escalate to Tier 2 if not able to resolve.
Must Have Skills/Prior Experiences: (Vendor should not submit any candidate that does not have these skills/prior experience.)
1. Mortgage banking experience (preferred roles: processing, underwriting, or closing).
2. Experience in a call center environment (but not collections).
3. Comfort with mortgage terminology and interpreting financial findings.
Experience Requirements:
• 2+ years preferred, but 1 year is acceptable if the candidate is familiar with mortgage terminology.
