Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Medical Billing Specialist, on behalf of a well-established and mission-driven healthcare services organization. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity based in San Antonio, TX.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate financial services professional to join a collaborative revenue cycle team in a high-impact, patient-focused environment. The Medical Billing Specialist plays a key role in ensuring accurate billing, account reconciliation, and support across multiple functions within the healthcare revenue cycle. This position is ideal for someone passionate about service, problem-solving, and contributing to a supportive team with a strong mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide excellent service to patients, internal teams, and payer partners through timely, professional communication and issue resolution
• Review and process billing information and insurance claims, including resolving denials and rejections to ensure proper reimbursement
• Monitor and reconcile payments, identify posting errors, and apply or refund payments as appropriate
• Maintain accurate and compliant account documentation in system databases
• Support continuous improvements in billing practices by identifying trends, errors, and opportunities for improved processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a streamlined and ethical revenue cycle operation

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working with healthcare billing systems and understanding of standard billing forms (UB-04, HCFA 1500)
• Familiarity with CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding (a plus)
• Knowledge of insurance guidelines, billing practices, and payment reconciliation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfort working in a collaborative team environment that values accuracy and integrity

COMPENSATION
