Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an ongoing contract, with possible conversion to perm entry-jr ELECTRICAL Industrial Designer for our client in Stamford, CT on a hybrid schedule for $19-$26 an hour. They will have strong 3D visualization skills to join our multidisciplinary team of consumer product engineers. In this role, you will work closely with engineers and product managers to conceptualize, develop, and refine physical products from ideation through production. Your ability to communicate ideas through compelling 3D animations and renderings will be key to bridging the gap between design and engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineers to develop functional and manufacturable product designs.
  • Create concept sketches, CAD models, and high-fidelity renderings.
  • Produce 3D animations and visualizations to communicate design intent and product functionality.
  • Participate in user research, competitive analysis, and design reviews.
  • Support prototyping and testing efforts, incorporating feedback into design iterations.
  • Maintain awareness of trends in materials, manufacturing, and consumer behavior.

Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience in industrial design, preferably in consumer products.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360).
  • Strong skills in 3D rendering and animation tools (e.g., KeyShot, Blender, Cinema 4D).
  • Excellent visual communication and storytelling abilities.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with UX/UI design or packaging design.
  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping tools (e.g., 3D printing, CNC).
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices in product design.
