Job Title - Air Quality Specialist
Location - Diamond Bar, CA
Duration- 6+ months
Note : Work Schedule: Four 10-hour days, Tuesday – Friday. On those days, the individual selected for this assignment will start at 7:00 a.m. and end at 5:30 p.m. The work schedule is currently in hybrid mode, with two in-office days and two telework days.
OVERVIEW OF ASSIGNMENT:
This job will support a wide range of activities within Technology Demonstration, leading the technology advancement and commercialization efforts to achieve significant NOx reductions and accelerate deployment of clean fuel technologies. The Technology Demonstration unit is responsible for providing co-funding and administering research and development, demonstration and early deployment pre-commercial on-/off-road mobile/stationary clean technologies including battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell electric medium-/heavy-duty vehicles and supporting charging and hydrogen refueling infrastructure; clean fuels and emissions characterization studies; clean energy management and charging micro-grids applications; zero-/near-zero emission locomotives, ocean-going vessels, port and construction equipment. Within the Technology Demonstration unit, the individual will work with others to support a portfolio of clean technologies at different technology readiness levels to develop new technologies across many mobile sectors for emission reductions and health benefits to achieve the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
Education—Completion of significant college coursework in electronics, engineering, physics, chemistry or related fields OR directly transferable experience. Education claims will be verified – original transcripts required. (Foreign degrees MUST have been formally evaluated for equivalency). Candidates must present you with a college transcript or diploma to document their education.
Ability to: Provide technical expertise in mobile source emission analyses, including the use of spreadsheets, databases, and other statistical software; gather and analyze complex data and prepare succinct and easy to understand reports and recommendations geared to different audiences, including South Coast AQMD management and various external stakeholders; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
License—California Class C Driver License and auto insurance that meets California requirements.
WORK LOCATION
This assignment will require travel to various locations throughout the four-county metropolitan area
(L.A., Orange, and parts of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties).
